Executive Director
With over 25 years of experience in both the Employee Wellness field and Clinical Practice, Dr. Sprague is a visionary strategic leader, gifted clinician and Executive Director. She is a Registered Psychologist (Clinical and Organizational), a Registered Social Worker, a Certified Executive Coach (CEC, ACC), a teaching Professor, a trained Change Management Agent, and a Critical Incident Stress Debriefer. She has designed and implemented many unique Wellness programs that have directly enhanced the psychological health of employees and their workplace cultures. Dr. Sprague treats and consults with clients and leaders on a range of both personal and work related challenges. She believes that as all action is preceded by thought, applying "good thinking" is the key to employee wellness.
Clinical Services Manager & Therapist
Al is the Manager of Clinical Services at Employee Wellness and one of the EFAP Therapists. Al has a Master of Social Work degree, and brings over 20 years of experience as a Registered Social Worker, frontline therapist, and clinical leader within healthcare and the community. Al offers a wealth of experience working with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures in the areas of substance use, addictions and compulsive behaviours; trauma and mental health; anxiety and depression; relationships, sexuality and kink; gender identity and expression; chronic health; loss and grief; shame, self-acceptance and self-compassion; and vicarious trauma and burnout within healthcare. In his work with individuals, couples, groups and teams, Al strives to bring an intersectional (albeit imperfect) and therapeutic lens into the room to help people discover and give voice to their own wisdom, reflections, strengths and capacities.
Manager, Employee Wellness & Client Relations
Simone is the Manager of Employee Wellness and Client Relations at Employee Wellness. She is responsible for developing and delivering integrated Psychological Health and Wellness Programs to the organizations, departments and employees that Employee Wellness serves. She has worked with some of B.C.’s leading employers in developing innovative wellness solutions for employee health and wellbeing. Simone holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Simon Fraser University and a Marketing Management Certificate from BCIT. She is a certified yoga and meditation instructor and trainer with over 15 years of experience in the area of Mindfulness and its applications in the workplace. She is also a seasoned expert in delivering workshops, facilitations, trainings and speaking in the workplace environment.
Critical Incident Stress Management Manager & Therapist
Melanie is a senior level therapist and Manager for the Employee Wellness Program’s Critical Incident Stress Management Services. She holds a Master’s Degree in Social Work, and is both a Registered Social Worker and a Registered Clinical Counsellor. Melanie has been in practice for 30 years and at VCH since 2003. As a leader and clinician, she specializes in Critical Incident response, complex trauma, domestic violence, grief/depression/anxiety, substance misuse and family/relationship difficulties. She is trained in a number of therapeutic techniques successful in resolving issues: EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), CISM (Critical Incident Stress Management), TFT (Thought Field Therapy) Focusing, CBT, Mindfulness, Solution Focused and Systems Therapies. Melanie believes that counselling is a process that depends on developing a relationship built on trust, respect and confidentiality.
